Days of Care

Its hard to believe that its been a whole school year since I have been back to work.
Annie was just 11 months old when I had to put in trust of others while I was entrusted with 30 , 9 year old children.
My mom and Brad "Grandma and GB" had Annie on Mondays. They loved to have her, and Annie especially liked GB's pancakes. For a little 'wind-up', they took Annie to Davidson Farms to see the tractors ('big trucks'), goats and donkeys. She loved to fed them and showed no fear!
Elsie, Dale's mom, had Annie on Tuesdays. She often came here and was like an angel in disguise, helping with laundry, dishes and even gettign dinner ready sometimes! SO nice to come home too! They went for lots of walks, looking for flowers and birds. Annie loves 'Oma'  and when she picks up the phone, she always puts in to her ear and says 'Oma?'
On Wednesdays and Thursdays, Annie went to 'Auntie Mick'. Monique has a home daycare, where she only takes in Teachers, so she closes up shop over the holidays to spend time with her family. She is amazing. I felt comfortable from the get-go, knowing that Annie was in good hands and well loved.  'Baby Annie' was Miss Popularity witht eh other 5 or 6 kids, getting lots of love and attention.
Well she is no longer 'Baby Annie' anymore. My 'Big Girl' is almost 21 months, talking up a storm and growing like a weed. I can't get over how much I just want to squeeze her and eat her up everyday!

Yesterday was the year end windup party for the daycare, and a nice send off to the two kids going into Grade 1 who will no longer need 'Auntie Mick'. Pajama Day, Waffles and strawberry luncheon ( strawberrys were bought on a bus trip down to the local Farmer's Market on the Wed.), P.T. the Clown came for some magic and songs ( I had to be there , as Annie has a mascot/clown phobia) and then she made a balloon animal for all the kids. Then we had ice cream cake, watermelon and had a water balloon fight! Annie was in awe of the water balloons, she kept asking for more!!
It was a fabulous day, Annie was so wiped she didn't even have dinner. Milk and off to bed!

Annie and I will take care of each other this summer. Swim lessons, gymnastics, and house hopping through renovations! Should make for a fun, BUSY, summer!
