*we just finished up with our dancing lessons a few weeks ago. as you can tell, we are not prima-donnas... yet....

*we had so much fun, and it actually was also kind of like a course in communication!

*have no fear, we will whip out a few moves at the wedding.

They recently put an ad in the Capital News to announce our engagement and our upcoming wedding....

Hasn't been heard in my classroom, but knowing my students this year ...I wouldn't put it past them!

THE POLITE WAY TO GO PEE

During one of her daily classes a teacher trying to teach good manners, asked her students the following question:

"Michael, if you were on a date having dinner with a nice young lady, how would you tell her that you have to go to the bathroom?" Michael said, "Just a minute I have to go pee." The teacher responded by saying, "That would be rude and impolite.

What about you Peter, how would you say it?" Peter said, "I am sorry, but I really need to go to the bathroom. I'll be right back." "That's better, but it's still not very nice to say the word bathroom at the dinner table.

And you, little Johnny, can you use your brain for once and show us your good manners?" "I would say: Darling, may I please be excused for a moment? I have to shake hands with a very dear friend of mine, whom I hope you'll get to meet after dinner."

The teacher fainted.

Happy Valentines Day! Well the day has gone and past, but I will tell you about it anyways.
My day started off my going fo ra nice, relaxing coffee with Dale in the morning before work. It was kinda like a calm before fore the storm. Valentines day in elementary schools is CRAZY!
I told my class (because they have been bad with this whole bf/gf thing lately -yes I know GRADE 4 !!!!!) that they could pass out their cards and stuff after recess (end of the day). Then we played some games and had a million and one cupcakes and treats.
OUr class actaully won the spirit contest for 100% of us wearing either red, white or pink! So good for my classs to be recognized positively these days :)
Any who, that night, Dale brought me home a cute bouquet of flowers, and he had made surprise dinner reservations at...Siam Orchid- our favourite little thai restaurant in town.
We we got there Dale still wasn't feeling well (hes been battling something) so I ended up pretty much eating by myself. Its OK though, its the thought that counted.
We came home and pretty much went a- snoozing. Mellow, relaxing, and enjoyable day. We aren't ones for the big Vday celebration anyways, but dinner is always a nice change on a school night !

New windows are here, front yard all raked and clear of snow....still VERY dismal out, but getting ready for reno time again!

10 THINGS THAT ARE NEW WITH ME

1. Dale and I finished our fourth dance lesson last monday...we are getting the hang of it!
2. Finally decided on an idea for invitations. Now Just have to pick out the colours and tidbits and then my sisters, my mom and Dale's mom are going to all make them on the Easter weekend.
3. We finally had the big Math Night at school. I organized a large event for families to come and visit different math stations and take home games and supplies in a goody bag. It was a lot of work planning, but it went awesome and now its over and of course, I'm sick.
4. Square Dancing at school is over now, the big 'jamboree' was yesterday and parents came to watch. It was fun, disco lights, the kids went nuts, etc
5. We found another cute little old house we are going to go look at. It will require alot of work, but it has a ton of character..and a mortgage helper suite in the basement!
6. Dale has started coming to Yoga with me.
7. I got tulips bulbs in a big glass jar that will sprout and bloom in the jar, in my house.. Can't wait!
8. Have been skiing a few times..and Katie says I am getting better. I even went on a few dreaded BLACK runs..with moguls!
9. Our school volleyball team is in FIRST place in the district! YAHOO! Go Gators!
10. Conferences start next week. yay.

Back in the World..

My most sincere apologies. Despite our fort knox anti-virus systems, we managed to get a nasty virus/trojan the other week. It had to go in to get cleared :( I am just getting it back today, after I think, the longest week and a half of my life! It is totally cleared so we had to redo all of our settings and stuff. Sucky but we were able to save everything ...it appears..but I still can't find my marks program.. and I have conferences next week...and report cards...ahhhh....
