Last night Dale & I walked down to get some ice cream from Safeway.
As I walked up the isle with my double churned triple chocolate Breyers tub, a lady walking in the ooposite direction eyed up my belly, looked at the savoury treat and smiled.
How sweet it is so receive the 'look' of approval and happiness from other ladies.

Lots to say at 4 am

i am wide wake. can not sleep. in my previous life ( pre pregnancy body take-over) I would simply lay there until I fell back asleep. Not so much anymore. Prep for baby I guess. So here i am. Lots to say I guess anyways... like Happy Birthday to me!

Today is officially my 27th birthday!

Last night we had a fiesta to celebrate. It is always great to have some of your close friends and family together. Birthdays are always a good excuse. I was spoiled withe people's presence and generousity of presents. Dale never ceases to amaze me. Every year he remembers something I have talked about, maybe even in passing or daydreaming, and voila! This year is no different. I have really been into taking pictures lately, mostly of landscape, flowers, etc. and have talked about either taking a course or getting a new camera- one of those fancy digital SLRs out there. I also wante dto have anice camera for the ababy arrival and precious memory keeping.
Well-I got both! YAY! SO if you know of a good camera to get, we are going hunting before the course we are signed up for. Please let me know what to look for etc.TOO cool! Also, Happy first Father's Day to Dale! He is going to make a spectacular Dad- I can't wait! here he is hanging out with our two kidlets the other night.
And.... yay to baby bumps! My amazing friend Freya and I are two weeks apart. IN fact, she is so amazing, that for my birthday, she gave me a DVD of all the speeches and messages she had taped at our wedding last summer. I am super stoked to watch it. Thanks Freya! She is also a teacher, so we are looking forward to a summer filled with INSIDE craft days! Here is our babies first pic together :) I am 23 weeks, and she is 21 weeks.

work

Well, where should I start. Hmm.. how about 12 days left! I can't even believe how fast this year flew by! Not to mention that in 12 days, I will be done with this job for 14 months... onto motherhood, and returning to work in Spetmebr 2009! Crazy.

I just finished up my report cards. Now i feel like posting on my blog is not a sin. I am not procrastinating. NO more reports for a year? What a gift. What a gift. I don't think parents realize the WORK that goes into those puppies.

So last week at our school was Teacher Appreciation Week. A 'secret' notice ( nothing gets by ol' eagle eyes here) went home to all the families letting them know how they could particpate.
So each day of the week, something new and special happened. Too cool. Such little things that can make a teacher feel so appreciated.

Monday- kids brought in a single flower from their garden, or store bought. I was able to make several beautful boquets of flowers for the classroom. Pretty and thoughtful! Who doesn't like getting flowers?

Tuesday- Luncheon. Families brought in food if they chose to, adn all the teachers and support staff had a huge delicious meal. I rolled out of the staff room that day.

Wednesday - Fill a basket of treats. Kids brought me in a muffin, cookie, piece of fruit, etc. I am still eating out of my basket. Some too scary to venture close to though...

Thursday - bring a book say. Some kids brought books they had already read to donate to the class library, others brought nice novels (their parents had read) for me to read, and two kids brought baby books for me! Too cool! I have actually stated to read a novel from one family, its really good! Talk about a good used book swap!

Friday- card/poem day. I received some nice cards from several students. Didn't think I would get as many items throughout teh week with an Intermediate class. I guess I am loved :)
One of my favourite poems:

Mrs.L,
A girl? A boy?
Abudle of joy!
I wish you well,
As you can tell
For there is no other,
Who'd make a 'Great Mother'
As you!

A fantastic week that made my heart feel warm. A great way to start winding down the year with my wonderful kidlets.
