Here are some pretty cute pics from Father's Day that I couldn't seem to upload the other day.
My evidence of the food-lovin 'little' gal we have created. You basically have to sneak food around her because if she spots you eating...look out...

She is actually getting to a funny stage too where she wants to feed herself finger food. SO everything becomes finger food. I seem to be slapping down dollops of everything onto her tray. She has perfected the 'pincher-picker-upper' and tends to not even chew- swallows by the handful. Look out high school wrestling teams, we could have a major contender in a few years!

Yes, there is also evidence that Dale and I were not only eating hotdogs, but were sharing with our daughter. Just the bun though folks.

Life is too short to not indulge every once and awhile.

Tuesday Tidbits

• we celebrated dale's first father's day. i think it was a hit. how could it not be? he is such an AMAZING dad to annie- she is a lucky girl. we woke up and had a nice breakfast, followed by a walk downtown to the annual car show. He even got a chance to get a hotdog (!) and a nap in! We ended the night with a nice dinner with his family.
• I did something i NEVER though possible. I biked up Knox Mountain... to the very top... and never had to walk my bike. Stopped a few times, but overall I was SO impressed with how much my fitness level and biking skills have improved. YAY me!I have decided I am becoming addicted to biking.
• I am going to the Grade 6 Graduation at my school tonight. I remember my Grade 6 Grad. I even remember what i wore. I am going to miss these kids though. I taught many of them for 2 years in a row, through marriage and a baby!
• A girls weekend away this weekend! A stagette at a lake with cabins.... WOHOO! Its going to be a blast.... the downfall... no annie banannie. She is in good hands though for her first 2 night sleepover. wish my mom luck!
  
• annie has a cold. i have become that mom that goes out and doesnt care that their kid has a crusty nose. i never thought i would be that person. i used to judge those people secretly. now that is me. hmm...
• I have been having trouble sleeping lately. I dont know why but every once and a while this happens, I toss and turn for nights on end. Grrr..
• If you hold your hands out, Annie will grasp them and pull herself to standing. Then smile with pride.
• I have decided that Michael should be with Jillian. He will make her laugh and that is SO utterly important in a relationship. This is bachelorette talk for those of you who arent addicted like I am. The cool part about this week too was that they toured the Canadian Rockies by train. Beautiful.
• Every day becomes more of a battle with keeping life in order. My house always feels like a disaster zone. Koodo's to all you working moms- September, just the thought of it, scares me half to death. Housekeeper, Babysitters and Take-out Food will be where its at.This is an insert to a travel mug I made Dale for Father's Day. I also found a wicked picture frame made from recycled bicycle chains - Fair Trade from India! OF course I put a picture in of little miss muffet with her bike helmet on!
  

Weeping Weenie

Is it just me, or once you become a mother you are suddenly over sensitive to EVERYTHING?!
I must get teary at least once a day. Sometimes just looking at Annie I want to break out into tears of joy. Certain commercials kill me. Especially the SPCA ones. Most movies send me into waterfall mode- especially if they involve kids. Today I was picking out fathers day cards for Dale, one from me, one from Annie, and I had tears welling up in my eyes. They all seemed so perfect. I actually have tears in my eyes now thinking about the tears in my eyes. Holy dine-a.

Tuesday Tidbits... Thursday Thoughts.... don't get your hopes up. Annie is on her third good nap of the day, hence my 'extra' procrastination time. Tired little muffin. Daddy daycare last night (ladies ride last night) didn't get Annie home until 9pm!!!!

Tuesday Tidbits

• high five to myself for getting this done today. i am setting the standard high for the rest of the day...
• yesterday was my birthday! hip hip hooray! as usual, i was spoiled with love. i had a fantastic day! thanks to everyone for your kind wishes and gifts. amazing group of friends and family! i am so blessed.
• i am battling with annie these days. she is developing a personality of epic proportions. as i type she is laying in bed talking/whining away, a.k.a. not napping.
  
• the kid LOVES to eat. i know this doesn't sound like a bad thing, and some kids don't eat, bt she will literally eat ALL day if i let her. how do i know that she is full. she cries when i stop feeding her!!??
• my hanging baskets are still alive. first year ever. another high five to myself.
• dale-e-o came home last night from his 4 day 'work' trip to whistler. he bought some outfits for annie. too cute. i was SO happy to have him home
• Ed voluntarily left on the bachelorette last night. He was my fav.
  
• 2 more 'official' wed night ladies rides left. we are still going to go though hopefully afterwards. i have signed up for a bike clinic put on by a professional downhill rider in July. I am stoked.
• my mom and i took annie to the fat cat festival parade. she loved it. she is so 'with it'. totally gets whats going on around her, and was excited to see the bands go marching by.
• i am feeling major guilt for not keeping up with annies baby scrapbook.
• my dogs are driving me NUTS. anyone have any connections with the dog whisperer?
• for my birthday present, dale is sending me on a weekend getaway to see Ellen! YAHOO! I just have to book the tickets come the new season in the fall and YAHOO! I LOVE Ellen.
• the hummingbirds never came. damn it.
• my clematis is dying. every freaking year it dies. i am not meant to grow a clematis.
• annie is finally quiet. my third high 5 for perserverance (sp?). 3's a charm and I am outtie to get some stuff done!I just realized after posting these pics that has her mouth open alot....her silent laugh?! I also noticed that her and Grandma are matching at the parade!

Woulda Coulda Shoulda Wednesday

• why do i find it so hard to post my tuesday tidbits. the whole idea is that its supposed to force me to post at least once a week. i even have it written on my calendar. i have no excuses except that im lazy. and busy.
• im off sweets for a week. im half way and and haven't cheated once. super proud of myself. even watched dale eat a blizzard. no sneak eats for me!
• my birthday is slowly approaching. yay me!
• annie hasnt pooped in too many hours. bitter sweet.
• she loves carbs. poor girl.
• my nana was here for a quick visit and we managed to get a picture of the 4 generations.
• i got my period (only the second one since last january- that sounds crazy to say!) the cramps are SO bad. SO bad.
• i hate that daytime tv is all re-runs right now. except for the undeniably awesome young and the restless.
• got the board game Quelf as a early bday present. wanna play it SO bad because its SO fun.
• taught myself how to french braid my own hair this morning- the joy of good naps!

Tardy Tuesday Tidbits

• Annie has ear infections. She started with a cold which turned into a whole lot worse. needless to say sleep is non existent in this household. not to mention the fact that dale is still pretty much laid up. sooo... to make a long story short- life in this household sucks right now. especially for me.
• we went to a jack and jill shower on the weekend. painkillers plus booze for dale = hilarioulsy drunk. oops. we managed to get somewhat decent photo op pre-drunky skunky, however, i am not sure why i am holding a tree. obviously at least one beer in?!
• at this party, someone wouldn't stop saying how dale looked exactly like jim carrey as the grinch. so im married to the grinch. somehow i alreayd knew this.
• we got a kiddie pool for annie. she likes it as a long as its warm. we go through extreme measures ( adding boiling water) to please the little princess.
• we watched Marley and Me and balled our eyes out. was the ending not a bit much?
• our spinach became infested with ants and other larvae.we ahd to dig it out . dang.
