Crazy Cupcake Conference
Tonight Dale and I went and met about our cupcakes for the wedding. They are going to be so cute, and we seemed to really hit it off with Lindsay, the young entrepreneur who is making them. However, I think she thinks we, more so Dale, are cuckoo for coconuts. Here are some of the comments Dale made-
(sidenote- we did meet at Chapters over coffee and sample cupcakes, so perhaps he was alittle doped up on caffeine and sugar!?)
"Wouldn't it be neat if the carrot -cake cupcake had like a little carrot sticking out the top?"
"How about on top of the coconut shavings we have a little husk sticking up?"
"Do you make rumball cupcakes?"
" Is it possible to put things into the cupcakes, like prizes?"
These were just a few, to name a few. I think this is why, no offence, woman generally take over the wedding planning...
Oh Dale-e-o!

Yes! Yes! Finito!
After many days last weekend of family/child labour, the invites are completed. I am really happy with them... not so happy with the post office. So... they are a little too heavy.. and a little too wide. Oops. So much for cutting costs with making them ourselves. Oh well.
LOTS of love went into these poeple. Lots of love. ENJOY!!! They are adorable!

SURPRISE SHOWER!

This Easter weekend was a busy weekend! My sisters both came down for a blitz wedding organizing weekend (they both reside in Willaims Lake) and for Easter/ my Mom's Birthday. Saturday we went out in full force to find bridesmaid dresses, material for table runners, etc. I was in panic mode because that afternoon we were to create all 70ish intricate invitations! We finally arrived back to my Mom's at about 2:00. There were cars all over the place, my Mom had told me her neighbour Melanie was having a pampered Chef Party. She had even gone as far as to have me fill out a 'wish-list' so her friends may be able to get me something for the wedding. So nothing seemed out of the ordinary to me. In fact, I had no idea! I had actually felt guilty all day that my Mom wasn't sahring in the fun shopping and wedding planning with us, but she was at home prepping like a mad woman for a surprise wedding shower! I walked in the door, and it stunk like perfume, I though maybe my Moms friends had come over after the cooking party. My Mom was all excited and told me to come into the living room, but as I was going down the hallway, a whole bunch of people yelled surprise?! I guess my sister Ally, who apparently looks alot like me, was mistaken for me. Oh well. I came around the corner, and I was still super surprised. Blonde.
There was about 30 people there. It was soooo nice to see everybody. It took me along time to register that everyone was here for me! I actually can't believe that everyone was able to keep it a secret from me?! Especially Dale! I had seen Cluny that morning at work, at about 9:30, and she said she worked till about 7. I kept thinking that was a long shift, but again, never clued in!
It was a fun shower! It was a garden theme, so everyone brought money and seeds, and my Mom and sisters had gone out and used the money to buy all sorts of great things like a big garden wagon, gardenning tools, garden decor and other neat stuff. Parker, my nephew, had even picked some things out! We played lots of fun games, I got all sentimental reading cards, especailly the one form Dale's mom, and we had some treats and appies. A really fun time!A big thanks to everyone that contributed and or could make it. AND a BIG shout out to my sisters and Mom for organizing such a great surprise!
P.S. Stay tuned for some great garden pcitures, I guess I have no choice but to become a professional now that I have everything I need. I even went out and bought Gardening for Dummies, because I love growing a veggie/herb garen and flowers, yet I can always learn more!

March 28th was my honey's 35th birthday! He is feeling the age crunch, so thank goodness his dear friends got a few thoughtful gifts to help him through the aging process. I also made him not one, but two cakes! The arctic cat 'barbie stripper' cake was awesome! Took Katie and I a long time to get it together, but it came out spectacular. A great idea ladies, if your men would have liked a real topless lady jumping out of a cake. This is much better. The other cute little, yummy angel food cake was for our nice family dinner out at our favourite restaurant Siam Orchid.
Happy Birthday Honky! We love you!
