time flies when you're making babies
yesterday dale and i celebrated our one year anniversary! i can't believe that a year ago we hosted a wedding where we committed ourselves to each other for the rest of our lives!

the year has flown by so quickly:
- a FABULOUS wedding
- an AMAZING honeymoon to Maui
- after several months of trying...a new addition to our family to be arriving in 7 weeks
we went out to a delectable french restaurant downtown last night to celebrate- Bouchons. The food and service there are incredible- a real splurge, but well worth it! we then walked down to get ice cream at our favourite local shop. got caught in the rain a bit, but all in all we had a great night. we even tried to forgo our individual beds for the special occasion, but neither of us could sleep, especially me, so dale retreated happily to his humble couch abode.
it sounds cliche but i can't wait for the many more fabulous years i have with this great man. i am so lucky to have him- the best husband ever and soon to be an extraordinary father!

can anyone say full moon?
i know i have been on a blogging mania the last couple of days, but so much seems to need to be said.
two strange things happened in the last couple of days. today is a full moon. i becoming a believer.
the other night the dogs awoke around 3:30 in the morning. they sat right up in their beds because they heard a noise. i was a bit scared, but then heard the noise too. it seemed kinda to sound like a cat scrap or something mussling around outside. i assured them it was nothing and continued on to take my2nd or 3rd late night potty trip. when i went into the bathroom, i could really here the noise, kind of like a grunting and snorting/squealing. sure enough, i looked out the window and saw an animal- long very pale fat, short running by between our house and the neighbours. yes, a pig! i was in shock! i layed in bed wondering where this pig may have come from, a pet, a slaughter house!?
i knew noone would believe me, so in the morning, after being laughed at by my loving husband, i ventured outside in my p.j.'s to look for hoof prints. nothing. it has been really dry lately. am i losing my mind? i even phoned the SPCA to see if a pig was reported missing. i got the same response as you are probably thinking- the lady repeated after me.. " a pig?!"
the other weird thing. have youe ver picked up the phone to have someone already sitting on the line- like they had just called you? its creepy. well today, TWICE, i have phoned dale and he was like "no, i just phoned you". weird. our minds are really insync today.

He's a Breast Man
Last night Dale and attended a Breastfeeding Clinic at Interior Health.
We are very eager and hopeful to nurse our baby the old fashioned way, but becuase of my breast reduction surgery about four years ago, we are very anxious that it may not work out for us. We are told chances are good, but we figured learning the most we can will help us be successful.
We walked down to the seminar and were joined by about 10 other expecting couple, most around our age. All different walks of life. Even a lady expecting triplets. I must have stared at her all night in awe and shock. The most shocking thing to us was that ourselves and one other couple were the only ones would didn't know what we were having!? Nearly everybody there introduced themselves and their baby, knowing the gender. Crazy how times have changed.
As usual, Dale provided the entertainment, becoming very involved, asking about bras and other 'lactation' questions. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. As the lady pulled out the granny maternity underwear she suggested, Dale couldn't help but holler- "Wow!- hot stuff!" Everybody laughed, but I sank lower into my seat. He was a great 'latching' mentor and was very successful in the burping techniques on our stuffed bear we had to bring along.
We had a good time, learned alot, then walked home to retire to the our new beds- me the bedroom- Dale the couch. We sleep much better this way these days.
Oh how life has changed.

where has the time gone
well, it seems like as always, summer is flying by in full speed. it really does feel like yesterday tht i was finishing off the school year, with grandeur plans for the summer. now its mid august. hmmm...
i did follow through on my one goal- to hang out in williams lake for a bit. seems like a weird goal i know, but my sisters are both up there, along with my adorable neice and nephew. spending just over a week up there was enough to visit with the siblings and relish in being auntie heather before the baby comes leaping in our lives. i say leaping because the day is going to come before we know it.
we also made a BIG ikea splurge after a quick one day jaunt to vancouver. we picked up bedroom furntiure for ourselves as well as everything for the baby room. we have been slowly but surely putting together the endless boxes that line the inside of our garage.
baby room is also almost near paint completion. just he tbasebaords need finsihing up. it is looking adorable. i will post picks when it is closer to being done. its still a bit of a disaster zone in the room, as everything is centered in the room with a drop cloth over it. time to tackle what lurks under the drop cloth i think.
we had some pregnancy shots with our very talented photographer from the weding. looking forward to getting those back and i will surely be posting them.
dale and i managed to get up to the cabin the other night. very relaxing. i think it will be the last time i brave that bumpy road until after baby's arrival.
been doing the prenatal yoga, breastfeeding clinic tonight and a wedding to attend this coming weekend.
septmeber will be here before we know it.
so there you have it. my busy little summer. 31+ weeks, coutnign down until our little pumpkin gets here.
