The Great Wall

House is moving fast these days. Walls getting knocked down and new walls put up. Windows ordered. Pot lights bought and half put it in in kitchen.

Busy little Beaver

We I have been keeping Annie busy with activities to fill up our long days together, so that both of us survive the summer. So far so good.

Swim lesson- check. not her first choice, but still fun. I think we may have passed- probably 51 %?!

Gymnastics- could very likely be her calling- way too much dare devil in her... gets it from Dale. She even got a medal today!

Painting and colouring- LOVES to do this.

Any sort of outdoor play, trips camping or up to the cabin, is also right up her alley. She loves to be otodoors- YAY!

Big Steps

What an excellent pun. Absolutely perfect.
Some moments I am so excited for what we have started. Something we have always wanted to do. So very surreal!
Other moments, which lately are happening more often, are more along the lines of 'what are we doing!??'
Every day the house starts to take shape, and it becomes more and more overwhelming. So many decisions and such a stressful process. What if the roof isn't the right angle? What colour of paint for the bedroom? Can I afford the new mortgage? What kind of tub in the ensuite? Where does that plug in go? These are just 5 questions out of thousands I have been dealing with. Literally thousands. Overwhelming to say the least.
But exciting.

I look at our 'steps' over the years...
Pregnant with Annie
Last time on the steps
Dale jack hammered the stairs away for hours yesterday.
I took feel like I am cracking under the pressure of it all.
Gulp. A good sign that now is the time to move out.
Looking forward to the many more steps to come!
The Last Week ... for two reasons.
Here is whats happened this last week. AND, this is our last week here, before our vagabond lifestyle for the summer begins.

The cement truck and pumper truck came to pour the foundation. How exciting! Annie and the neighbourhood kids loved watching!

Working hard or hardly working?! A quote I  like to use in my class too....

Annie needed a new house too!

Little Miss ____________

I could fill that 'blank' in with a different word each day hour. She is such a sweet pea most times, but lately we have had glimpses of what I think raising a teenager might be like.

New thing- "Annie -too"
Another new thing - 'helping' cook
Another another new thing  - saying "cheese" when someone holds up a camera... hilarious!

Obsessed with shoes. Mine, hers, putting them on, taking them off, doing it herself, wearing only her 'crocs'

We have had a few 'big girl potty' moments lately. Not going to lie, its pretty exciting. The teache rin me started a sticker chart, as Annie LOVES stickers.

Actually, anything that comes after the word 'Big Girl' is usually a sure fire hit.
ie. "Want to have some pasta?" No thank you ( good manners )
ie. "Want to have pasta with a big girl spoon?" YAY! Big Spoon. Pasta!

Don't make any bets on Annie being an Olympic swimmer. She is not happy at lessons. She likes "Carta" though.

Last but not least, cause its the cutest thing ever... a new hair do! A short bob for the Okangan heat!
