Interview Moi

My friend and fellow blogger Elizabeth was interviewed. She put the word out that others could participate. So here are the questions that she asked me. They are good- very good. See how you can participate too at the bottom of this post.

Here is our virtual interview:

1)You and Dale have worked hard at making your home a wonderful refuge for your family. Do you think you will be staying there and making it work for your family or do you dream of moving into a bigger space?

We have worked really hard at making this small, old place work. It seems like constant renovations and reshuffling, and now with our new little Annie, we seem to be outgrowing the space quite fast. But we struggle with the very notion all the time. There are just too many things we love about where we live.
We love living downtown; we try to walk to get everything as much as possible, and enjoy being close to many parks and the beach and central to other parts of town. We also love our old house. It has so much character and fits our style just perfect. We often toss around the idea of adding another level up top. A small loft style space with a master bedroom, ensuite and office, and knock out some walls down below.
Our small space makes us live simple and that is our goal. We dont need a big house, consumed with consuming to fill it.

2) You are an elementary teacher, on maternity leave. I know that my year off went by way too fast, but sometimes I also missed being in the classroom. What do you miss about being in the classroom, this year?

I think I miss the people - kids and co workers. Sometimes a day with a little one who can't have much of a conversation back with you besides drooling gets a bit boring. I also miss planning. I loved planning lessons - interesting things for the kids to work on. I hate using textbooks, so creating meaningful lessons where kids enjoy learning and really 'get it'. These take time. The hard part will be balancing my new life- being pulled into my work and home- both my "babies"!

3) You have a marvelous and beautiful daughter. What is your favourite part about your dear little Annie?

By far- watching her grow and change everyday. It is so cliche to say, but they grow SO fast! It seems like everyday she is discovering something new, or even growing new hair overnight. Even the idea that I grew her baffles me! How the??!!
Right now, I love her giggles. Uncontrollable and spontaneous. The cutest thing ever. I have been trying to get it on video to share!

4) You and Dale are a wonderful couple, whom I admire. When and how did you know that he was "the one"?

Its funny to say, but I knew he was 'the one' right away. Like within a couple of weeks, I told a friend he was the one. It wasn't a smooth beginning, as he wasn't sure about committing to us as an exclusive couple right away. He was just getting out of a long, serious relationship, so I didn't come along at exactly the right time. But we just couldn't deny the connection. We grew closer and closer, and I just knew. The feeling is hard to explain. He has since told me his feeling were very strong as well right away, but he was just scared.

5) Let's look forward... Where do you see yourself in ten years? What do you think will be the biggest differences in your life (other than keeping up with your ten-year-old daughter!)? Do you have any goals you are working towards?

Thats tough. The future is so hard to plan.
I think I see us with another kid, living a simple, family centered life. I think we might still be in the same house! I will still be teaching, hopefully just getting back to full time as my kids are in full time school. Hopefully Dales store will be successful, allowing us to live comfortably and still be able to partake in the outdoor activities we like at a reduced cost!
My goals? Hmmm..... love life. Enjoy and relish in how lucky I am to have an amazing husband, my dream career and the cutest most special daughter ever!

Now its your turn...

1. Leave me a comment to interview you.
2. I will email you my choice of 5 questions.
