work
Well, where should I start. Hmm.. how about 12 days left! I can't even believe how fast this year flew by! Not to mention that in 12 days, I will be done with this job for 14 months... onto motherhood, and returning to work in Spetmebr 2009! Crazy.
I just finished up my report cards. Now i feel like posting on my blog is not a sin. I am not procrastinating. NO more reports for a year? What a gift. What a gift. I don't think parents realize the WORK that goes into those puppies.
So last week at our school was Teacher Appreciation Week. A 'secret' notice ( nothing gets by ol' eagle eyes here) went home to all the families letting them know how they could particpate.
So each day of the week, something new and special happened. Too cool. Such little things that can make a teacher feel so appreciated.
Monday- kids brought in a single flower from their garden, or store bought. I was able to make several beautful boquets of flowers for the classroom. Pretty and thoughtful! Who doesn't like getting flowers?
Tuesday- Luncheon. Families brought in food if they chose to, adn all the teachers and support staff had a huge delicious meal. I rolled out of the staff room that day.
Wednesday - Fill a basket of treats. Kids brought me in a muffin, cookie, piece of fruit, etc. I am still eating out of my basket. Some too scary to venture close to though...
Thursday - bring a book say. Some kids brought books they had already read to donate to the class library, others brought nice novels (their parents had read) for me to read, and two kids brought baby books for me! Too cool! I have actually stated to read a novel from one family, its really good! Talk about a good used book swap!
Friday- card/poem day. I received some nice cards from several students. Didn't think I would get as many items throughout teh week with an Intermediate class. I guess I am loved :)
One of my favourite poems:
Mrs.L,
A girl? A boy?
Abudle of joy!
I wish you well,
As you can tell
For there is no other,
Who'd make a 'Great Mother'
As you!
A fantastic week that made my heart feel warm. A great way to start winding down the year with my wonderful kidlets.
