new links

2 new links have been recently added to my site. i thought i would explain them to you.

  • deanna's jewellery - my sister's husband/boyfriend/ whatever you call it's sister. she makes fantastic things. i have many pieces myself. check it out.
  • scott & krystal - my step brother and his girlfriend just left for australia for 6 months. very jealous. check it out.
Part 1

Last night Dale and I had our weekly date night. We had a blast! We went to Sturgeon Hall for some quick, fun Pub food and atmosphere. Then we headed down to the local pool hall called Breakers. A quick aside- a couple of weeks ago I had purchased a coupon book through Crimestoppers -needless to say I know all about crime now-hehe, so the pool place was in there. We were a little bit clueless at first, even though we both play pool. But when guys around you have their own case with a fancy schmancy stick...a little intimidating! We had fun though, we played for about an hour and then came home. A great Friday night.

Part 2

Something very weird is happening to me. I am hoping I can get some insightfrom my readers. I think I am growing??! I think my feet have grown bigger...and I am taller!? Weird. It is a little freaky. It is not like I am in highschool going through my growth spurt. I am 25 and DONE growing. I feel like I should be either in the Guiness Book of World Records...or the circus.
HELP!?

yoga hiatus

after a samll, but obviously too long yoga/pilates break over the holidays, i am officially back in the saddle. my instructor went to australia with her husband for 3 weeks, leaving me to me own devices...which is basically me full of excuses to just chill. oops- bad mistake. went back to yoga last night. apparently in about 1 month you can lose alot of muscle. who knew? anyways, back into the groove. if your reading this mel, thanks for a great class and welcome back to ktown!

weekend adventures
on saturday night, dale and I took cluny and her roomate alyssa snowshoeing up to the cabin. we actaully left our house on time, about 3:30. but we ended up getting to peachland and dale had forgot the cabin keys. home we went. finally arrived back at the point where we had to park the car (base of brenda mines) and started snowshoeing. it was SO cold and dark, we didn't get any pictures. it took us about 2 hours, uphill the whole way! it's about 2.5 kilometres in and about a 10 minute drive in the summer. ugh. I didn't realize how out of shape I was in from the holiday season! but we made really good time, and got there at about 8:00. we had a fantastic dinner, played some cards, drank some wine and went to bed. the morning sun came out, we had breakfast and headed back down. about 1 hour down. a very fun trip and good compnay. my legs are still sore though...

dancing diva...

dale and i have started taking dancing lessons- an aside- i am typing in all lower case today because i am tired of all the printing and writing all properly and neat now that i am back to work - we are taking west coast swing... a groovy, slow, rhythmic, sexy dance. we had our first lesson on monday, and it was a real blast. its funny how you bug each other about your posture and such. i kept telling dale to move this way or that, and he was like heather, your off beat. funny. a whole different world for these people who 'have the beat.' one day maybe, one day.

back to school this week as well. its sure hard to get into the groove- apparently dancing lessons don't help with this kind of groove. alarm clocks, dealing with nit picky fights, picking of noses, hard to read handwriting. can't say i wouldn't want it though. i do love my job.

we are actually doing square dancing at school. a local square dancing association does it for free and supplies 'a caller' and everything. a caller is one of those guys who calls out the moves like do-si-do. they go freaking fast, but its a riot. the kids love it, apart from the touching of course, and i love watching them love it. the music is total country... hmmm. that would have suited our barn wedding... ummm... on second though ....no...i think i am going for more of a chic country, not so much red neck...ohhh....but dale ...
jk honey.

Holiday Happenings...

Dale and I have completed one 500 piece puzzle (it took usa about 24 hours) and then now we have started a really hard 1000 piece puzzle. We have decided to make it a holiday tradtion. We are also interested in organizing a puzzle exchange. Goodness knows how many people love doing puzzles, yet they sit in our cupboards once complete. Stay tunes for exchange details.

Opa's Birthday! (Dale's Dad) New Years Eve we went to Dale's brother's brad for Opa's birthday dinner. The kids enjoyed root 'beer' at their own little table :)
Sophie (my moms dog) had a sleepover. It pretty much ended up being the dog pound, between Sophie, Ginger and Nooker - at night - Nooker on the floor at the foot of the bed, Sophie at the foot of the bed on the covers, and Ginger at the foot of the bed under the covers! The cousins do love each other though!

RockYou FXText - Get Your Own
Praying to the Porcelain God

Like many of you, I too have been hit with the nasty flu. I was pretty ill the last couple of days, and indeed had one of the most mellow New Years becuase of it. Everyone that knows me, can understand that when I turn down wine...there is a problem. The good news is that things are finally staying down, and I am eating food! YAY1
Please be careful out there...wash your hands...its NASTY!
