I just wanted to set up a link to the funniest blog. I can't even remember how I came across it, but its freaking hilarious. The creator finds ridiculous wedding photos and makes fun of them.

lonesome and stressed me

This weekend was.. well... not very productive. Even though I was stressed about Report Cards, spending time with Dale before he went to Vancouver for a few days seemed to act as a good procastianting method as well as a natural stressrelaxer.

We went to Katie and Corey's Friday night for a great meal with lots of good friends. We even broke out the Drinking Jenga! It was a riot. Yes, the person (thanks Keith) to my right pulled the moustache block, so poor Heather had a moustache on for the evening!

Needless to say, the next day was a write off, and Dale and I and the dogs had a three hour nap during the day! We did some errands and rented a movie. It was fun. Today, Sunday, we went skiing/boarding for half the day and then went shopping. Dale left for Vancouver to go to a trade show, and I am busily writing report cards. Its very quiet in the house, and I already miss him. This is a busy week though, and I have lots to do because we are going away Friday- Monday to Fairmont Hot Springs! A much needed vaction!

Anyways, 31 Report Cards are calling my name..as is that tub of soy ice cream in the freezer! Yup, that definately deserves an A!

field trip

Well, yesterday I took my class to the Art Gallery. We walked around the exhibit and then got to do our own 'hands on' art project to sort of immitate the focus of the exhibit. All in all it was pretty good. But you always have the few kids where you can only shake your head... Okay....one example ...because I need to vent but I realize that this a positive and happy atmosphere. So one boy, we will call him "Mac" for arguments sake. First all of all I need to back up a smidge and let you know that after a "guided" tour, the lady said to the kids "Okay now you can have some free time to wander around the gallery! What! A teachers worst nightmare. So here I am trying to catch them before they scurry off- "Don't touch anything!", "Stay with a buddy!" Well, back to my story. I happen to see Mac hanging around the Guest Book suspiciously. I casually walk over to glance at it and he has written in several lines "This is so Pro." "So Pro."

Pro? I ask myself. Then a conversation from a few weeks back pops into mind. I was inquiring to the kids what this 'Pro' meant, for all I knew it meant that you were like, a professional at it. The Art Gallery is Professional?? No, Ms. Getz, "Pro" means cool, totally awesome, like its wicked. Your so pro, that's so pro. Who would have known! I thought I was a young teacher, in with the times... holy smokes!

Anyways, the Gallery was fun and I am including a few pictures. . Oh yah, I also was feeling artistic (very suitable place to feel this way I thought) and snapped a few wanna be cool pics, artistic pics, pro pics!

spring cleaning

It's definately that time of year.

You know when you get that urge to start re-organizing and rearranging? Well, between "resting" and cleaning up mini puke, I remembered this cool old trunk Dale and I found last year at a garage sale.
It was in the hallway/kitchen (our house isn't very big!) as storage, but I figured it would be super as a coffee table. So i did some rearranging and voila! A clean and newly 'renovated' living room (den/TV room/dining room/office)!

I also figured I better take a picture while it stays so clean. I'm trying to be a better 'roommate' these days!

bunch of sicko's
Well, if me being sick wasn't enough, the dogs are also feeling the blues. Nooker, who occasionally has seizures, had a seizure this morning. She was kind of stumbling around and Ginger thought she was playing. So I put Gingi Pants ( her nickname because she wears the pants in the family, and being part weiner dog, she looks like she could be wearing pants!) in her kennel and layed down with Nooker until she was feeling better. NO sooner had I put Nooker outside to get some fresh air, comotion is coming from the kennel and Ginger is throwing up! I open the door and start consoling my puppy, who is quite new to these queesy feelings, and she throws up again! My poor puppies. Poor me. Now, the three of us are relaxing and not feeling very good :(

" Gingi Long Pants" - her aboriginal name!

A rare occasion- at the cabin Nooker actually let me take her picture!

Here's a little something...

As I am home sick, "resting" (something teacher personalities seldom do) and doing laundry, I remembered this video that my Dad emailed me. Its crazy and I really want to give it a try. I challenge you - all Miss Heather readers- to attempt the amazing t-shirt folding trick!

The Weekend
Well, there goes another weekend! Its seems to fly by lately. I guess when your sick too because you don't seem to be able to get much of anything done.
Had a pretty relaxing weekend. Dale and I went for sushi Friday night, then Saturday morning I went to pilates/yoga. Man, doing any kind of pose where you are any part upside down sure is sn't good for the nasally dripped challenged. Then we spent the day doing errands and such. Saturday Night we went to Dale's brother Brad's and his wife Brenda. It was Cameron, our nephew's, 7th birthday. We had a nice time, Dale's parents joined us too, and got to bed early that night to rest my cold.
It was a good weekend, but I am home sick again today, Monday, and just can't seem to get any better. Grrrrrrrr....

its friday night
unfortunately, my dog is crazy, my nose is running, my house is freezing, report cards suck and i am hungry. fortunately, i got my hair cut today and worked my butt off (literally) last night at C.O.R.E. class. unfortunately, i delved into my valentines chocolate stash from the kids today. fortunately, i was able to hide the wrappers as to not feel guilty or get bugged. unfortunately in writing this, i realize that those who would harass me for eating pounds of chocolate in one sitting are going to be reading this.
here is my video (as mentioned earlier) from my sole trek snowshoeing. Enjoy! (Thanks Pro- Blogger Liz)

love day

As we all know yesterday was Valentines Day. My friend Elizabeth (as Ellen would say- "holla!") stated that it should be Love Awareness Day- just a reminder to all about the love they are so fortunate to have in their lives. Speaking of which.... Dale surprised me yesterday in my classroom by bringing a helium balloon and an americano misto :)It was so cute and the kids were like "ooooooo Ms. Getz!" Too funny! Then we went for a nice Lobster Dinner. Fantastic Awareness Day.

I am so lucky.

jessica

This picture is for jessica....my darling friend who is in China and I miss incredibly. Jessica is on the left, Tasha- my other fanastic friend, is in the middle and I'm on the right. A bunch of beautiful girls last summer, if I might say so myself!

Okay, this is really addicting!

I wanted to add a beautiful candid of my nephew Parker. He went skiing for the first time and is just wiped right out. What a sweetheart!

Dale and I and the dogs (Nooker and Ginger) and our good friends Katie and Corey (and their pug Lulu), went to our cabin a couple of weeks ago. It was a blast, the girls snowshoed and the boys snowmobiled. Lots of drinks, laughs and game playing! Yay! The next day I snowshoed back down to the truck with Nooker. It was a beautiful, clear blue sky day and I was so hot I was taking layers off constantly. I took some really nice pictures and if I could figure out how to post a video I would do that too!

Here are some recent pictures of Ginger, the new puppy! She is almost 7 months old now and growing like a weed (well as fast as a chihuahua/mini daschund can grow)!
Well, well well. I created a blog back in the day and yet got to busy and interested in the other blogs I was watching. Now I figured that I better start tracking my life for all those friends and family spread out across the world. Hopefully I will be a bit better with keeping this up to date, but I hope you enjoy!
