Annie Jane loves her Daddy

As Annie gets older, she is becoming more and more alert and responsive. She has realized that life beyond Mom exists, and she is constantly tracking Dale around the house. Too cute. Already becoming Daddy's little girl!

Here are some pics of the two of the together fr
om her 7 week photo shoot.

thanx

Thanks for all your great support and advice.
Last night was worse, only a four hour sleep- it has a been a while since she has been up so much in the night! I was so tired today. I couldn't help but snicker when she went down for a sleep several times today and I had to start making more noise when it hit the three hour mark- goodness girl- we know why your tired- you didn't sleep last night!??
But I refuse to let it spoil my day. We still went to Mom & Baby Bootcamp this morning and for a walk this afternoon. I managed to squeeze in to the doctors for a quick 3 month checkup. I told her all my woes. She figured that she probably was going through a growth spurt. Power through, power through. I was surprised with her weight- only 12.8! At 2 months she was 12. I thought she would be a lot more, but she is still totally healthy, around the 75th percentile. Who knew?! She is starting to lean out a bit yet trying to grow at the same time!?
Pure evidence hat I have a crazy cat on my hands.

her new thing- push herself to 'lounge' in her chair!

Feeding Frustration

Annie has always been a good baby. Lots of naps during the day, and eating every 3 hours. She has always had a fairly big stretch, anywhere from 6-7 hours at night too.
Until now.
For the past week, she has eaten every 2 hours on the dot. her naps are smaller and her night time sleeps are a max of 5-6 hours. I can't seem to go anywhere or get anything done all of a sudden. Not to mention my lack of sleep.
I thought it was a cluster feed thing, until it lasted more than a couple of days, so then i figured she was just growing.
But it kept going.
And last night, I got like NO sleep because she just wanted to eat.
DO i feed her, or am I creating the wrong night time routine?
I am so lost in this new baby world, and so frustrated.

I have been trying to think of what I have been doing differently if anything, and the only things is more exercise and eating better and a bit less. Can this affect her feeds?

What happened to the Annie Bannanie I used to know??!!

I am 3 months old already! I can't believe how fast I am growing!
My new favourite things to do : hang out in the jolly jumper and stand up ( with the help of mom and dad), suck on my hand, sit in the bumbo chair, and smile and giggle.

For the first time that I can remember, I have decided to make new year resolutions. They are very attainable and things I have been focusing on anyway. This way, I can have success- smart eh?! They are such simple things that I try to do, but don't put the effort into. By publishing them, I think it will make me more accountable. I challenge you to write down yours as well.
I even made a small poster to hang in the kitchen to remind myself on a daily basis.

So heres my list ( in no particular order):

  • Get back into pre-annie shape ( I am going to a mommy and baby bootcamp that is pretty intense, as well as yoga, snowshoeing, walking, etc. Burn baby burn!)
  • Finish scrapbooking projects that I started ( finishing off the pregnancy one I started- which is super weird now that I have met Annie!? - and starting annie's scrapbook/baby book)
  • Use the compost ( I am so darn lazy to throw scraps away, when there is a bowl by the sink and a composter out in the garden. Goodness knows our crappy soil needs the nutrients!)
  • Wear accessories more often ( I always see people wearing beautiful earrings, necklaces, hair things etc, so I buy some and NEVER wear them!? I am always just about to leave the house and take them off- but not this year!)
  • Light Candles ( Dale makes fun of me that we have candles around the house that are 'not for burning.' Why do we do that ladies??!)
  • Don't Slouch ( I have always had bad posture, but now with the addition to my chest, sigh, and carrying around my 'little' annie, i constantly catch myself hunched over. I fear the Hunchback of Notre Dame in my future... )
  • Use up odds & ends ( from bulk bags in the pantry to lotions half used and thrown in a drawer, time to use it all up before I buy!)
  • Less TV, more Music ( I have to admit, daytime TV becomes very addicting, but more so I just have it on in the background for noise.... but then I get drawn in. So from now on I watch a select group of shows at specific times, and the rest of the day is music. I have even caught annie watching, which I really don't want!)
  • Consume less (This is something I think everyone is trying to do these days, but I have been working on this for a while. It makes me sick to look at my bank account and see the money get thrown away. From making my coffees and teas at home, to buying annies clothes at a used kids clothing store, I am pretty proud of having accomplished this goal already)
There you have it. Wish me luck.

Happy New Year!

Well, another year has come and gone. Phew- what a year!
We celebrated ( well, until 9:30!) New Years at the cabin with Dale's family.

It is Dale's Dad's birthday on the 31st, so we all went up. Some on snowmobiles, some on snowshoes, and some on split boards with skins.
I went up with Dale's mom Elsie on snowshoes. It felt good to get back out there, I am feeling so out of shape these days. My legs sure did burn... and Dale snowmobiled in to get Annie up quickly and out of the cold!
It was a great night with the family playing games and eating way too much!
It was also special because it was our first trip up to the cabin as a threesome ( well actually 5some- both Ginger and Nooker came along too)!
Dale grew up going to the cabin, so its important to us that our kids do the same. Annie was so well behaved, didn't even notice a change in her behaviour at all. Shes just too precious!
